Peer Review Policy
Overview
The International Journal of Intelligent Systems, Mechanics and Energy (IJISME) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a rigorous and transparent peer review process.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review, ensuring that both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the evaluation process. This approach promotes objectivity, fairness, and scientific integrity.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the Editorial Office or Editor-in-Chief to determine whether:
The manuscript fits within the scope of the journal
The submission meets the formatting and structural requirements
The manuscript demonstrates sufficient scientific quality
The similarity level complies with the journal’s plagiarism policy
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected before peer review.
Double-Blind Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor or handling editor who oversees the review process.
The manuscript is then sent to at least two independent expert reviewers in the relevant research field.
During the review, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure impartiality.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria:
Originality and novelty of the research
Scientific and technical quality
Methodological rigor
Clarity and organization of the manuscript
Relevance to the journal’s scope
Significance of results and contribution to the field
Reviewer Recommendations
After evaluation, reviewers submit their reports along with one of the following recommendations:
Accept without revision
Minor revisions required
Major revisions required
Reject
The Editor-in-Chief or handling editor makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
Revision Process
If revisions are requested, authors must submit:
A revised manuscript
A detailed response to reviewers, explaining how each comment was addressed
Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for additional evaluation when necessary.
Final Decision
The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on:
Reviewer reports
Scientific merit of the manuscript
Compliance with journal policies
Authors will be notified of the editorial decision via the journal’s submission system.
Review Timeline
IJISME aims to ensure an efficient review process:
Initial editorial screening: 3–7 days
Peer review process: 3–6 weeks
Final decision: typically within 6–8 weeks of submission
